Paul and Jacob The Carver Kings, tackle a massive Warbler carving that will be larger than 7′ long and 2′ high. In our video you get a look at the awesome work were doing before getting the project finished. We will release a full video of the project once were all finished up.
In this chainsaw carving you can see us start to take apart the big white oak log, cutting the bottom off and shaping it up closer to be like a warbler. The warbler will be a part of a larger project going down to the USA.
Paul marks out the measurements to match the playground attachments. Paul free hand slabs the bottom of the white oak log with his husqvarna chainsaw. Paul pushed the slab cutoff from the white oak log as he blocks out the warbler bird carving.
We hope you like the video and would appreciate any likes / shares & comments if you enjoyed!

The Carver Kings Paul and Jacob discuss how they are going to approach carving the eagle in the tree. They need to avoid a bit of rot in the stump and it doesn’t take them long to get started seeing their artistic vision.
When a Burlington, Ontario couple reached out to Carver Kings, they had a special request — their beloved 100-year-old Silver Maple tree needed to come down, but they didn’t want to lose it entirely. Paul and Jacob Frenette transformed that moment of loss into something truly stunning: a full bald eagle chainsaw carving emerging from the stump itself.
This bald eagle chainsaw carving in Burlington Ontario presented a unique challenge from the start. The stump had a natural crotch — a split in the wood — that Paul and Jacob used cleverly to separate the eagle’s wings, giving the finished piece a natural, dynamic spread. They also had to work around a section of rot in the stump, planning the design carefully to avoid weak areas while preserving the structural integrity of the carving.
After the main chainsaw work was done, Paul and Jacob switched to woodworking dremels and detail tools to bring the feathers, face, and talons to life with precision. Finishing is critical for any outdoor bald eagle chainsaw carving in Ontario’s climate — they sealed the carving to protect it from weather damage, fungi, and insects. The sealant also brought out the natural color of the Silver Maple wood, giving the finished piece a warm, rich tone. The clients were absolutely thrilled with the result — their beloved old tree living on as a stunning piece of art in their yard.
They get a good look at how the stump starts out, the plan is to have the wings be separated by the natural crotch in the tree.
After putting their amazing chainsaw skills to work, they do some finishing touches with woodworking dremels and burning. to bring the piece to life.
Its important they seal the carving to preserve it from whether damage, fungi and bugs. The finish also gives the carving some natural color.
A beautiful finished piece, they made the clients very happy. They were delighted to have their beloved 100+ yr old tree be given a second life after having to have been cut down.

This sculpture was carved by Paul Frenette as a commission piece for Glen Peister and Sons at Innerkip Highland Golf Club in Innerkip, Ontario.
Glen said he had an old Maple tree that was dying and they had to take it down. The tree is at least 150 years old and he didn’t want to just throw away all that history. He wondered if the tree could be carved, thus preserving the history. Of course Paul said “No problem, what do you want carved?”. Glen had a small statue of an English Golf Caddy in the pro shop at the clubhouse and wondered if Paul could do a scaled version of him. Again the answer was “No problem. That will be a blast to do!”
This majestic old tree stands 12 feet in circumference, or about 5’ across, and the stump was cut at about 15 feet tall. There are two main trunks to the tree that split off at about 12 ft up. God himself must have planted the seed for this tree with the intent of producing this Golf Caddy for this course on this hole. When Paul scaled the statue to the maximum size he could, given the diameter of the tree there was only one way the carving would work. The trunks in the tree lined up perfectly to allow him to cut the golf bag at the right angle and the right place to fit on the caddy’s back and still carve all appendages in the right places. The uncanny thing was the fact that the only direction he could possibly place the carving to take advantage of the maximum scale, was with the Caddy gazing down the #1 fairway at the Clubhouse! This grand old boy stands just to the right of the #1 green, gazing down at the golfers as they approach the green as if waiting to offer his services. As Glen said “Just ask him, he’ll tell you where your ball went.”
A message from Paul: “Well it’s finally done! The Golfer is finished and I must say, I am impressed with the outcome. I really thought it was good enough without any finish on it, just the raw wood. But wow! I never really thought colouring him would make so much of a difference. I had a blast working on this project and could not have asked for better customers. The Peisters are the best and were a great inspiration throughout the entire project. I think this Golfer is the perfect addition to a great course!”
